Laligurash Bright Future English School has helped to significantly improve primary school access for children from disadvantaged communities from Mirge VDC. Before the school was established in January 2008 many of the children within the area were deprived from receiving good primary education in spite of the community having a government school within their region.
Many of the village children were not encouraged to attend school because either their parents were too busy on their farms or working away in the jungle. Having a lack of education themselves they didn’t see the importance for their children’s education; parents needing the labour of their children, particularly the girls to help the family feed itself meant that they could not always afford to release them to attend school or college.

Laligurash School is not funded by the government and relies heavily upon financial assistance that it has received from international sponsors and also on monies received each month from students’ fees (NPR150 per students). The monies that it has received so far has gone towards paying teachers’ salaries, teaching resources and the construction of classrooms from bamboo and mud to solid stone but there are still many more challenges ahead.
If a family has 3 children attending the school, the 3 child within the family receives a scholarship. The goal of this school is to provide accessible primary education providing scholarships to destitute children, families unable to afford the school fee, poor and deprived students whose parents have died or are too sick to care for them; this places a huge demand on the financial resources for the school.
The proposed goals and objectives of the school are:
Laligurash School, with the generous support from Haydn Green Skill Academy, aims to uplift the life standard of the local folk and the students. We aim to enhance the living condition of minority and marginalized groups, women, socially backward people and the so-called low caste people who have been the victims of racial oppression for a long time through our life-skill trainings. The training may include beauty parlour training, training in plumbing, electrician training and of course, computer skill training ,sewing training and so on.
We hereby request and invite any training institute or trainers to be the part of our social campaign. Lets walk hand in hand to make difference in the lives of thousands of people. Our joint efforts may bring changes in a remote area.
